Dragon Pokemon?

Dragon Pokemon have been present throughout the entire Pokemon series, and have sustained a reputation to be overly strong, and overall better than 'average' Pokemon. I personally think that they are the strongest type of Pokemon, as they can learn a very wide variety of attacks, and their high stats may allow them to strike even at Pokemon that they are weak to with a diverse moveset. For example, Salamence.

Salamence is an incredibly fast Pokemon with a very high attack, and could easily land a damaging attack on a Pokemon with a type advantage over it. For example if a Salamence was battling an ice Pokemon. As Salamence can learn powerful moves such as flamethrower etc., it will be able to land effective and damaging hits on the ice Pokemon, as long as the ice Pokemon doesn't have a chance to attack.

There have been a pseudo-legendary Dragon Pokemon introduced into almost every Pokemon series so far, bar the Gold, Silver and Crystal series, where Tyranitar, a psuedo-legendary dark/ground was introduced instead. Although you could argue that Kingdra, was this series' pseudo-legendary dragon.  The pseudo legendary dragon Pokemon are:

  • Dragonite, Gen 1
  • Kingdra, Gen 2
  • Salamence, Gen 3
  • Garchomp, Gen 4
  • Hydreigon, Gen 5

What is your favourite pseudo-legendary? I think that Dragonite takes the cake, original and just awesome. However Hydreigon is bordering on my favourite. Whoever thought there would be a dark, three-headed Dragon Pokemon? Let me know what your favourite Pseudo-legendary is, and why. I'm planning on writing about pseudo-legendaries more in future posts (not just dragon ones), so stay tuned.
