Pokemon Grey?

I was searching around on the web and found some rumors that the third installment of Generation 5 would be Pokemon Grey, and that Kyurem will be the centre of the storyline, as opposed to Reshiram or Zekrom. I think that this would be great for the B&W series, as it would kind of cap it off, just as Crystal, Emerald and Platinum did before for their respective series'.

Unfortunately, this is only just a rumour and rumours most of the time consist of made up information. The discussion of the third installment to Gen 5 has been thriving on the discussion boards of forums, so I'm not sure of the credibility of the statements being made. We'll just have to wait and see won't we....

Kyurem, Legendary Dragon/Ice Pokemon

Hey guys! :D

Remember to vote on the polls! Make sure your favorites win! I will post the winners of the polls once they have finished, and write a small article about them.

Also, I am aware that I mispelt Eevee on the Eevee evolution poll! ooops :P

Dragon Pokemon?

Dragon Pokemon have been present throughout the entire Pokemon series, and have sustained a reputation to be overly strong, and overall better than 'average' Pokemon. I personally think that they are the strongest type of Pokemon, as they can learn a very wide variety of attacks, and their high stats may allow them to strike even at Pokemon that they are weak to with a diverse moveset. For example, Salamence.

Salamence is an incredibly fast Pokemon with a very high attack, and could easily land a damaging attack on a Pokemon with a type advantage over it. For example if a Salamence was battling an ice Pokemon. As Salamence can learn powerful moves such as flamethrower etc., it will be able to land effective and damaging hits on the ice Pokemon, as long as the ice Pokemon doesn't have a chance to attack.

There have been a pseudo-legendary Dragon Pokemon introduced into almost every Pokemon series so far, bar the Gold, Silver and Crystal series, where Tyranitar, a psuedo-legendary dark/ground was introduced instead. Although you could argue that Kingdra, was this series' pseudo-legendary dragon.  The pseudo legendary dragon Pokemon are:

  • Dragonite, Gen 1
  • Kingdra, Gen 2
  • Salamence, Gen 3
  • Garchomp, Gen 4
  • Hydreigon, Gen 5

What is your favourite pseudo-legendary? I think that Dragonite takes the cake, original and just awesome. However Hydreigon is bordering on my favourite. Whoever thought there would be a dark, three-headed Dragon Pokemon? Let me know what your favourite Pseudo-legendary is, and why. I'm planning on writing about pseudo-legendaries more in future posts (not just dragon ones), so stay tuned.

Pokemon Black and White

The latest installments in the Pokemon series are the two games Pokemon Black and White. In my opinion they are a minor step upwards in terms of graphics, with the lowering of the camera view, but a major step up in terms of battling and gameplay. The speed of battles increased, allowing me to progress through training and battling quicker, which I thought was a nifty little improvement. The real time seasons was also a major aesthetic improvement in my eyes, however the biggest improvement was the return to an 'original' themed Pokemon game. This was featured through many different aspects of the actual game, mainly the routes being reset to route 1, and the restriction placed upon players, of only being able to obtain Unova region Pokemon up until post-Elite 4. Personally, this forced me to experiment with the new Pokemon, and create a dynamic list by getting to know the new Pokemon and their types etc.
My main 'peeve' with Pokemon B & W, is that the Pokemon look RIDICULOUS, aside from a select few, which have some actual merit. Some of the outrageous 'creations' that the Game Freak designers produced actually caused me to burst out in laughter and wonder whether the designers had some inkling of creativeness left in their brains. Some of these Pokemon bordered on complete absurdity. Take a look at this Pokemon,
I actually don't understand this Pokemon. When I first saw it and it's pre-evolution Woobat I immediately saw it as a failed attempt to recreate a bat-like pokemon similar to the formidable Golbat and Zubat. Although Swoobat does live up to the incredibly annoying reputation of it's 1st Gen counterpart Golbat. ;)

What about this one. Once again a horrible attempt at recreating a 1st Gen superior, pure fighting type similar to Machamp. When I see this I don't see an awesome fighting Pokemon. I see an absurd deformed bear shaped Pokemon. Oh, with an ugly red clown nose and a dong on it's head. So you're telling me everyone of these ridiculous creatures carries massive concrete pillars around?

I literally cried when I saw this. C'mon Game Freak, you created a fricken ice cream Pokemon. What a joke, I cannot believe that this is seen as a legitimate Pokemon.

Although I harshly criticize some of these horrid designs, I think that several Pokemon look incredibly awesome. Including the two main legendaries, Reshiram and Zekrom. I am incredibly fond of dragon Pokemon, so I was very impressed with the three-headed dark dragon, Hydreigon and the axe-head Pokemon, Haxorus. Another surprisingly awesome looking Pokemon is Scolipede, which puts a whole new, 'dangerous' or 'intimidating' spin on Bug Pokemon.

The awesome gameplay, and the original theme of Pokemon Black and White are definite winners. What brings these games down are ridiculous designs that don't constitute the original elements of an actual 'Pokemon'.

Pikachu :D

Hey guys, talk to me about Pikachu!

I have a level 81 Pikachu which I have E.V. trained to maximize her special attack and speed, and the results so far have been incredible. She boasts an incredibly high speed, and an almost equally high spec. attack.

Because of this I'm able to land an incredibly damaging attack on most pokemon before they can do anything :). I'm actually very proud of my Pikachu, as it one of my most finely E.V. trained pokemon. Adding to it's incredible spec. attack is it's hold item; a light ball. Which effectively doubles its spec attack and attack. The result is an incredibly dangerous Pikachu!

I don't know about you, but I think Pikachu is one of the best electric pokemon in the game. Primarily, what I want for an electric pokemon is speed, and special attack. Speed, to enable the pokemon to land damaging attacks by attacking first; and special attack, as most strong electric attacks are special.

Name the strongest electric pokemon in your opinion, and why. Personally, I love Pikachu.

In case you were wondering..

My background is of a neon Haunter.. pretty awesome right?
